European Commission Publishes Final Draft Commission Delegated Regulation On The Specification Of A Single Electronic Reporting Format

On 17 December 2018, the European Commission published a final
draft text of its delegated regulation with regard to regulatory
technical standards on the specification of a single reporting
format. From 1 January 2020, the Transparency Directive requires
all annual financial reports to be prepared in the eXtensible
HyperText Markup Language, or XHTML, format (for the human-readable
representation of financial reports) and eXtensible Business
Reporting Language, or XBRL, format for machine-readable
reports.
The regulation will enter into force on the twentieth day of its
publication in the Official Journal and can be accessed here.
