On October 8, the EDPS released a statement calling for greater cooperation
between regulators of Europe's consumer law and data protection
rules to prevent legal uncertainty and develop a "big-picture
approach" to addressing systemic harms to individuals in
digital markets. In particular, the EDPS noted that it is
"problematic" for consumers to pay for the supply of
digital content or services with their personal data.
