Richard H. Clarida was sworn in as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and as Vice Chair. Dr. Clarida was nominated by President Donald J. Trump in April 2018 to serve as a Vice Chair for a four-year term and as a Board member for an unexpired term ending on January 31, 2022.

Dr. Clarida was previously the C. Lowell Harriss Professor of Economics and International Affairs at Columbia University, where he taught since 1988. He also served as the assistant secretary of the U.S. Treasury for Economic Policy from February 2002 until May 2003 and served on the Council of Economic Advisers under President Ronald Reagan.
