Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP is delighted to announce Gary Born's forthcoming online lecture program (Kluwer Law International), titled Gary Born's Lectures on International Arbitration. The Lectures will be available on Kluwer Arbitration's website, and additional details can be found here.

The Lectures provide a comprehensive study of all aspects—academic and practical—of international arbitration. They consist of 90 hours of detailed online presentations on international arbitration, including international commercial arbitration, investment arbitration and state-to-state arbitration. The Lectures are divided into two parts—a Foundation Course and Advanced Topics, covering a total of 27 chapters.

The Foundation Course has three main topics—International Arbitration Agreements, International Arbitral Procedures and International Arbitration Awards—which are covered in some 50 hours of Lectures, while the Advanced Topics address specialized or advanced issues in greater detail. View Contents for full details of all the subjects covered.

Each chapter in the Lectures is accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation and a reading list and is divided into 15-25 minute segments. The readings are drawn from Gary Born's International Arbitration: Law and Practice (2nd ed. 2011) and International Commercial Arbitration (2nd ed. 2014).

The materials accompanying the Lectures focus in particular on international sources, including international conventions, the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration, the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, arbitral awards and other international sources. The Lectures also examine those national court decisions and national legislative instruments that are representative of leading international trends and that have been influential in other jurisdictions. These sources are addressed in video Lectures, by Mr. Born, and explored further in readings accompanying the Lectures.

Who should view?

The Lectures are designed for anyone interested in international arbitration, including practicing lawyers, in-house counsel, law students and academics.
