As the primary season winds down and general election campaigns heat up, the Dentons' US Public Policy team presents its US Policy Fall Preview - 60 Day Snapshot, an analysis of the key themes of the elections, the issues upon which the candidates are basing their campaigns, the parties' get-out-the vote strategies, and actions that President Trump could take between now and November 6 that might alter the demographic characteristics of those who come out to vote.

More than 100 House races, at least 10 Senate races and numerous gubernatorial races have been deemed "competitive" by election forecasters. Our report focuses on the 16 House races most likely to determine control of that chamber, the 7 Senate contests deemed most competitive, and several gubernatorial matchups, the outcome of which will impact the redistricting process in 2021.

The report also takes an in-depth look at who will be chairing committees in the House and Senate in the 116th Congress. From Agriculture to Veterans' Affairs, we look at the state of play on both sides of the aisle, from likely successors to Republican leaders who are term-limited or in highly competitive reelection races, to the Democrats most likely to ascend to the top spots should their party capture the House.
