Congratulations to the Illinois Governor's Mansion
Association on the completion of the renovation of the Illinois
Governor's Mansion in Springfield. The Mansion renovation was
funded completely by private dollars and in-kind donations.
Freeborn's Construction Law Services Group was proud to be
selected as Special Construction Law Counsel for this historic
undertaking wherein they provided pro-bono construction law counsel
to the Association throughout the multi-year renovation project.
The Mansion was initially constructed in 1855 and first occupied by
Governor Joel Matteson. The Mansion was later added to the National
Register of Historic Places in 1976. Renovations to this popular
tourist destination began in 2015 and the Mansion will officially
reopen to the public on July 14, 2018. To learn more about the
renovation process, visit: http://illinoismansion.org/
We take great pride to join with a number of professional firms
and corporations within the Illinois business community in
preserving this important asset of Illinois history for new
generations to visit and experience in our State's Capital.
