The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency ("OCC") revised the "Capital and Dividends" booklet of the Comptroller's Handbook. The booklet outlines regulatory capital rules and the minimum applicable regulatory capital standards.

The OCC updated guidance for OCC examiners on evaluating a bank's (i) capital adequacy and (ii) compliance with capital and dividend requirements. The changes reflect adjustments to the capital framework that have been mandated by the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act (the "Act"). As previously covered, the OCC recently issued a joint statement with the other federal banking regulators outlining an interim approach to rules and reporting requirements that will be affected by the Act.
