The MSRB is seeking public comments on a draft of frequently asked questions ("FAQs") related to certain aspects of MSRB Rule G-42 concerning the duties of non-solicitor municipal advisors. Rule G-42 sets forth core requirements that a municipal advisor must meet when, among other things, providing advice or making a recommendation to a municipal entity or obligated person client about municipal securities transactions and/or municipal financial products. The MSRB is focused on providing useful guidance on the distinction between giving "advice" and making a "recommendation."

The comment period was extended until April 16, 2018.
