On Friday, December 16, the Government of the United States will release its long-awaited National Action Plan on Responsible Business Conduct.

A livestream of the launch event, which will be held at 11 a.m. ET, can be accessed here.

First announced by President Obama in September 2014, the plan is expected to focus on ways in which the U.S. Government can promote and encourage responsible business conduct in the following areas: human rights; labor rights; land tenure and agriculture; trade and investment; anti-corruption; and transparency.

Speakers at the launch event will include: the Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economics; the Deputy Secretary of Commerce; the Deputy Secretary of Labor; the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury; and the Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment.

In future posts, we will look at the potential impact of the plan on U.S. Government initiatives going forward.
