CFTC Chair Timothy Massad, Superintendent of Securities for Newfoundland and Labrador John O'Brien, and Deputy Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs Patricia Hearn signed a Counterpart to a 2014 Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU"). The MOU concerns cooperation and the exchange of information in the supervision and oversight of entities that operate on a cross-border basis in the United States and Canada. The amended MOU includes several Canadian governmental bodies as signatories even though they were not party to the former version of the MOU.

Entities within the scope of the MOU include (i) markets and organized trading platforms, (ii) central counterparties, (iii) trade repositories, and (iv) intermediaries, dealers and other market participants.
