James A. Matthews, III, partner at Fox Rothschild LLP, recently authored Pennsylvania Labor & Employment Law (Second Edition), a fully revised edition of his integrated and comprehensive guide that was first published in 2013.
In this second edition, published by American Lawyer Media, Matthews updates this thorough and focused examination of the federal, state and local laws governing Pennsylvania employers and employees. In addition, his treatment of employment discrimination and equal opportunity issues is complemented by the extensive and expanded treatment of those topics in the companion volume, Pennsylvania Labor & Employment Law: Employment Discrimination (2016), published earlier this year. Both volumes include substantial appendices of statutes, regulations, forms and other materials.
At Fox, Matthews is a senior partner in the firm's Labor and Employment Department. He previously served as co-chair of the department and an elected member of the firm's Executive Committee. He has represented management in all aspects of employment relationships for more than 30 years.
Matthews received his J.D., cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law and his A.B., cum laude, from Duke University.
