The Commission is tasked with recommending means to strengthen cybersecurity in both the public and private sector. The recommendations are intended to balance privacy and security needs. The Commission's charge also includes reconciling the needs of the federal, state and local governments with the private sector, and do so in a manner that promotes continued innovation.
