California Gov. Jerry Brown signed a group of medical marijuana laws on Oct. 9 that will have a widespread effect on how the entire industry is regulated in the state. The governor approved AB266, along with AB243 and SB643.
"This new structure will make sure patients have access to medical marijuana, while ensuring a robust tracking system," Gov. Brown said in his signing message, as reported in the San Francisco Chronicle. "This sends a clear and certain signal to our federal counterparts that California is implementing robust controls not only on paper, but in practice."
