European Parliament Signs New Law On Genetically Modified Crop Cultivation

On March 11, 2015, the European Parliament signed off on a new law that will break the
deadlock and allow new GM crop varieties to be grown in Europe. The
law, which was a compromise, allows Member States to ban GM
cultivation even if approved by the European Commission. The law
was published in the Official Journal on March 13, 2015,
and will enter into force 20 days after date of publication.
