We are delighted to announce the release of the second edition of International Arbitration: Cases and Materials (2014 Kluwer Law International) by Gary Born, Chair of the International Arbitration Practice at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP and the world's leading authority on international arbitration and litigation. This edition has been extensively revised and is a thoroughly international approach to international commercial arbitration (focused on the New York Convention and UNCITRAL Model Law), while providing comparative examples drawn from state-to-state and investment arbitration.

More About The Book

This casebook is based upon Professor Born's treatise, International Commercial Arbitration: Commentary and Materials, 2nd Edition, the leading commentary in the field. It features an easy-to-use and accessible structure, organized chronologically to follow the course of an international arbitration (arbitration agreements, arbitral proceedings, arbitral awards).

The book is thoroughly international, with materials focused on the New York Convention (and Inter-American Convention), and the UNCITRAL Model Law. Materials include judicial decisions and statutory materials drawn from all leading jurisdictions (European, Asian, North American, Latin American and other) and arbitral awards under all leading institutional and other arbitration rules. It also includes a thorough treatment of international arbitration in the United States, under the FAA and New York Convention.

Though directed towards international commercial arbitration, the book also contains materials on investment arbitration and state-to-state arbitration, which are used as comparisons to commercial arbitration materials. The book is complemented by Born's three-volume treatise, International Commercial Arbitration (Kluwer 2nd ed. 2014), which provides more detailed commentary on issues covered in the casebook, and by Born's International Arbitration: Law and Practice (2013).

Features of the Second Edition:
