European Parliament Names New European Data Protection Supervisor

On November 27, the European Parliament's president announced that the next European data
protection supervisor ("EDPS") will be Giovanni
Buttarelli. He previously served as assistant EDPS and has been
replaced in this role by Wojciech Rafal Wiewiórowski. The
EDPS is in charge of protecting personal data and privacy as well
as promoting good practice within EU institutions and bodies.
