This program addressed legal issues, contractual and other, arising in foreign trade and foreign direct investment in emerging and mature markets outside of the United States. The panel emphasized structuring trade and FDI transactions with adequate protections and mechanisms to facilitate timely completion and/or exit, as applicable. Consideration was given to planning from the corporate counsel's perspective, in the preparatory and diligence phase and in the execution and/or operations phase.
