  3. 2014-020, American Autism & Rehabilitation: Proposes to establish a multidisciplinary outpatient therapy and medical facility offering Occupational, Speech, Nutritional, Hyperbaric Oxygen, Sensory Integration, Social Skills therapies, and Applied Behavioral Analysis to children and adults with neurological/developmental/metabolic disorders such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Diabetes. Opposition: None.

  4. Cost Overrun

    AL2013-005, Regency Retirement Village of Huntsville, Huntsville, AL:
    CON 2606-SCALF was issued on 3/7/2013 for the renovation and addition of 16 Specialty Care Assisted Living Facility beds by converting 11 ALF beds to SCALF and add 5 SCALF beds for a total of 56 beds, pursuant to the amendment to rule 410-2-4-.04(2)(d)(6)(ii) of the Alabama State Health Plan with an estimated cost of $207,500. The final cost of the project was $242,374, resulting in a cost overrun of $34,874.

    Approved the cost overrun.
  5. Contested Case, Batched Applications

    AL2013-070, Mobile Infirmary Association d/b/a Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, Mobile, AL:
    Proposes to convert 15acute care beds to inpatient physical rehabilitation beds which will be located on the third floor of Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in the J.L. Bedsole/Rotary Rehabilitation Hospital in Region VI. ALJ filed Recommended Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law denying this project. Opposition: Springhill Hospitals, Inc. d/b/a Springhill Medical Center filed intervention/opposition and request for a Contested Case Hearing.

    The applicant requested 15 beds but the Board approved only 4 beds.

    AL2013-071, Springhill Hospitals, Inc. d/b/a Springhill Medical Center, Mobile, AL: Establish an 11 bed inpatient physical rehabilitation unit in a distinct part of the hospital in Region VI. ALJ filed Recommended Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law approving this project. Opposition: Mobile Infirmary Medical Center filed intervention/opposition and request for a Contested Case Hearing.

    RV2014-024,
    Renal Treatment Centers-Southeast, LP d/b/a Wind Creek Dialysis, requests to establish and operate a 10-station ESRD facility consisting of 9 hemodialysis stations and 1 isolation station to be used for Hepatitis B negative patients when it does not have Hepatitis B positive patients on its census for Hepatitis B positive patients being dialyzed. Status: Pending.

    RV2014-025, Hospice Advantage, Pelham, requests an operational restructuring of Hospice Advantage Pelham (parent) and Hospice Advantage of Demopolis (satellite), by making Demopolis the parent provider. Status: Pending.

    Springhill Medical Center, requests to renovate the Emergency Department and replace existing equipment. Status: Pending.

    RV2014-027, Montgomery Vascular Surgery, P.C., requests to add office-based, minimally invasive endovascular treatment of upper and lower extremity arterial and venous disease. Status: Pending.
