When I joined Twitter, one of the first feeds that I followed was History In Pictures. As a former history major in college, I really enjoyed the quirky mix of historic and pop culture photos. Where else are you going to see pictures of the Rolling Stones, Victorian era exercise machines, and Hindenburg survivors on the same day? Then I learned from an article in The Atlantic that the feed is run by two teenagers. I was equally shocked and impressed by this revelation. Rather than goofing off like normal teenagers, these two guys were building a Twitter feed with over 1.7 million followers (and presumably making millions of dollars in the process).

The History in Pictures phenomenon opened my eyes to the power of Twitter to cultivate communities of people with similar interests. When I started the Trademarkology blog with some friends from work, our goal was to help people select a brand name or logo by providing insight on how others have selected and protected their brands. We created the Trademarkology feed on Twitter to further this objective. Taking a cue from History in Pictures, we decided the best way to share our insight on Twitter was through the use of trademark trivia.

The Trademarkology twitter feed provides daily doses of trademark trivia from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office database. If you like History in Pictures, then we think you will get a kick out of our tweets. Here is some of the trademark trivia that we are featuring this week:
