Ely Goldin was quoted in The New York Times article, "U.S. Ordered To Return Assets Held in Crackdown of Luxury Cars Exported to China." Full text can be found in the April 4, 2014, issue, but a synopsis is noted below.

Federal authorities were dealt a setback in their crackdown on the business of buying luxury cars in the United States for resale in China when a judge in Ohio ordered the government to return money and cars it seized from Automotive Consultants of Hollywood.

In one of the first rulings to challenge the legality of the seizures of vehicles, the judge said prosecutors failed to produce sufficient evidence of wrongdoing by the Automotive Consultants to justify the asset freeze.

"Being the first ruling of its kind in the auto export sector, it will get attention from other courts," said Ely Goldin, one of the attorneys representing Automotive Consultants. "The judge was taken aback by this entire investigation."
