The Claims and Underwriting Exchange (CUE) has been extended to holiday illness claims.
CUE is a centralised database which currently holds more than 35 million records relating to accidents and claims reported by insurers in motor, home, personal injury and industrial illness.
The new platform, CUE Travel, will enable insurers to validate a policyholder's travel claims history for both claims management and underwriting purposes. Initially CUE Travel will be available at the point of claim but there are plans to expand into point of quote.
CUE Travel has been established in response to the Insurance Fraud Taskforce's 2016 report. The report recommended insurers establish a way to access a wider range of data to enable to crackdown on fraudulent claims.
