The press has extensively reported on the alleged circumstances which lead Ms Carneiro to resign from her position at Chelsea and bring claims against Chelsea Football Club for constructive dismissal and separate proceedings against Mr Mourinho for alleged discrimination and victimisation. On 7 March 2016, Ms Carneiro and Chelsea Football Club's representatives met at London South Employment Tribunal for a private hearing. Ms Carneiro's barrister commented that the parties are unable to reach settlement and therefore tribunal proceedings are set to be heard in early June 2016. It is understood that, as part of any settlement, Ms Carneiro will be seeking significant compensation from Chelsea Football Club and a public apology from Mr Mourinho.
