The visitor economy- perhaps still better known as tourism- is increasingly important not just to the UK but particularly to the North of England, as the sector is growing faster than manufacturing, construction and retail. 

Today, the world is everyone's oyster- and the UK, because of its heritage, is one of the major beneficiaries of international tourism, once again bolstering the visitor economy and creating jobs.
