Today the Supreme Court handed down a potentially landmark
divorce judgment. The case, Wyatt v Vince, centred on whether a
spouse could bring a financial claim long after a divorce. Kathleen
Wyatt, 55 and Dale Vince, 53, were married in 1981, they had a son
and lived a new age lifestyle, before splitting in 1992. Ms Wyatt
then brought a claim in 2011 for financial settlement of their
divorce.
Charmaine Hast, a partner and Head of the Family team at Wedlake
Bell, provided commentary on the case. This was covered by the BBC
News website, the Press Association, the Daily Mail online and in
over 80 other regional publications. She was also interviewed by
BBC Radio Five live, ITV News and the BBC World Tonight.
The content of this article is intended to provide a general
guide to the subject matter. Specialist advice should be sought
about your specific circumstances.
