2012 promises to be a busy year for employment law and employers should ensure that they are ready to respond.

Forthcoming changes include an extension to the qualifying period for unfair dismissal from April and new employment tribunal procedures for handling all types of claims. October sees the commencement of the pensions auto-enrolment regime, which will affect all employers and the pension provision they provide for employees.

The government has also stated its intention to introduce changes to many other areas of employment law, including the rules relating to agency workers and dismissal procedures. Changes to TUPE and collective consultation are also on the cards.

To help you consider what may be the key employment law topics for your organisation in 2012 the employment team at CMS Cameron McKenna has created an 'Employment Law Top Topics for 2012' flyer which sets out what we see as the key challenges for employers. You can access the flyer here.

If you would like to discuss any of the topics mentioned, or other issues that may be affecting your organisation please contact us or another member of the employment team.
