Kindly take note that on Wednesday, 24 June 2015, notices were published in the Government Gazette No's. 38904 and 38905 (GNR 539, 540 and 542 of 2015), in terms of which the Minister of Labour:
- promulgated the New Driven Machinery Regulations, 2015 (click here to view GNR 540 of 2015); and
- incorporated a schedule of "Safety Standards" into the New Driven Machinery Regulations, 2015 (click here to view GNR 542 of 2015). These "Safety Standards" include a "National Code of Practice for the Training Providers of Lifting Machine Operators", which was published under GNR 539 of 2015.
Furthermore on Friday, 3 July 2015, a further notice was published in Government Gazette No. 38925 (GNR 573 of 2015), in terms of which the Chief Inspector:
- withdrew GNR 527 and 528 of 2015 (published in the Government Gazette No. 38887 on Friday, 19 June 2015), and replaced these notices with GNR 540 and 541 of 2015 (click here to view GNR 573 of 2015). It is assumed that the reference to GNR 541 is intended to be a reference to GNR 542.
The New Driven Machinery Regulations, 2015, will come into effect on 30 September 2015 (see sub-regulation 24 of the New Driven Machinery Regulations, 2015).
