On 17 October 2013, the Court of Justice of the European Union (the "ECJ") ruled on a preliminary reference from a German court concerning the interpretation of Article 15(1)(c) of Regulation (EC) 44/2001 of 22 December 2000 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters (the "Brussels Regulation") (ECJ, case C-218/12, Lokman Emrek v. ECJ Rules That Information Provided Via Websites Or Hyperlinks Does Not Meet Requirements of Consumer Distance Contracts
On 5 July 2012, the Court of Justice of the European Union ("ECJ") handed down a judgment on a reference for a preliminary ruling from the Oberlandesgericht Wien (Austria) concerning the interpretation of Article 5 (1) of Directive 97/7/EC of 20 May 1997 on the protection of consumers in respect of distance contracts ("Distance Selling Directive") (ECJ, case C-49/11, Content Services Ltd v.
