Preparing For The Permanent Quota
With the implementation of the permanent immigration cap fast approaching on 6 April 2011, we would advise businesses who are intending to employ out of country candidates on a Tier 2 (General) visa, to issue the CoS (assuming they have any left under their temporary allocation) and ensure that the migrant has submitted their entry clearance (visa) application before this date.

Tier 1 General Global Cap Met
We learned on 1 December that the Tier 1 (General) quota for December has already been met. This is the third consecutive month that the quota has been reached (each month earlier and earlier!).

November Tier 1 (General) Quota Reached
As this is the second consecutive month that the quota has been reached (and this time much earlier in the month) we anticipate that this is likely to be the pattern going forward with a real possibility that the backlog may mean that no new applications will be processed from early in the New Year.
