Social Security "No-Match" Regulation Update - DHS Requests Time to Conduct a New Rulemaking
The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California has granted a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) motion which will stay proceedings until March 1, 2008, to permit DHS to undertake a new rulemaking effort that will address the court's concerns with its regulation on Social Security Administration (SSA) no-match letters.

Recent Developments in Immigration Law
Beginning April 1, 2006, employers have been able to file H-1B petitions subject to the FY 2007 cap, requesting an H-1B employment start date of October 1, 2006. As our recent Immigration Alerts have advised, the FY 2006 H-1B cap was reached on August 10, 2005.
