On 3 January 2018 to coincide with the implementation date of MiFID II, the Department of Finance published  SI 614 of 2017 European Union (Markets in Financial Instruments)(Amendment) Regulations 2017 (the "Amending MiFID II Regulations"), amending the Statutory Instrument No. 375 of 2017, the European Union (Markets in Financial Instruments) Regulations 2017 (the "MiFID II Regulations").  The MiFID II Regulations implement the MiFID II Directive and delegated directives directly into Irish law. As the Amending MiFID II Regulations do not replace and repeal the MiFID II Regulations, the Amending MiFID II Regulations should be read in conjunction with the MiFID II Regulations.

The amendments contained in the Amending MiFID II Regulations primarily correct typographical errors contained in the MiFID II Regulations.
