Ministry of Information and Broadcasting vide Advisory No. 3105/18/2015-BC-III dated 20 March 2015 has once again issued advisory to all TV channels regarding covering live ongoing anti-terrorist operations. This advisory has been issued in light of covering the live ongoing anti-terrorist operations by TV Channels on 20.03.2015. Ministry in public interest has advised all TV Channels to safeguard innocent lives, to ensure that no operation linked information reaches the terrorists and their handlers, and in the interest of national security, live coverage of counter terrorism operation by security forces should not be telecast. The media coverage may be restricted to periodic briefing by an earmarked official till the operation concludes. Ministry previously also had issued advisories to all TV Channels on 27 November 2008, 3 December 2008 and 20 November 2009 in Public Interest and in the interest of national security so as to avoid any adverse impact on rescue operations.
