BaFin continues to permit the later publication of transactions on post-trade transparency

Transactions in financial instruments may continue to be published later than the European Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR) generally requires. BaFin is extending its corresponding rules by one year until January 1, 2020. For further information in German, click here.

The German Ministry of Finance published a draft law concerning Tax Accompanying Measures for the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union (Brexit Tax Accompanying Act - Brexit-StBG)

The BaFin plans national prohibition of binary options for retail clients

The German Ministry of Finance published a drafted law amending the financial supervision legislation to deal with the consequences of the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union

The Act contains amendments to the Act on the Supervision of Insurance Undertakings (Versicherungsaufsichtsgesetz – VAG) and the German Banking Act (Kreditwesengesetz – KWG) aimed at avoiding adverse effects in connection with the anticipated withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union in the area of financial markets. In addition, it aims to minimize risks to major financial sector institutions arising from the activities of individuals who may have a particular influence on the risk profile of the institution as a whole.
