French Government Clarifies Enforcement Mandate Of Securities Regulator

The French Securities regulator may conduct inspections if it
has grounds to suspect that entities committed market abuse or
investigations to ensure that regulated intermediaries comply with
the regulations applicable to them. The regulatory framework
relating to inspections was less detailed than that relating to
investigations. Such imbalance is now rectified with Decree no.
2014-498 dated May 16, 2014.
