Mr John Wynne Owen MBE will be sworn in as the seventh Governor of the Cayman Islands on Monday 16 October. Chief Justice George Harre will administer the Oath of Office for the inauguration which will take place at the Legislative Assembly in Georgetown, Grand Cayman.

The new governor comes to the Cayman Islands from the post of British Consul General in Boston, US.

At Monday's swearing-in ceremony, the Governor will be welcomed by the Hon.Truman Bodden OBE, JP, Minister for Education and Planning on behalf of the government. The Chief Secretary, the Hon. James Ryan, MBE, JP will give the welcome address on behalf of the Civil Service.
