May 21, 2019 – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says immigration is a crucial factor behind Canada's thriving technology sector.
Trudeau told a conference in Toronto that Canada's openness to welcoming new immigrants was central to the growth of the technology industry.
The Liberal leader said that while countries like the U.S. are closing themselves off to immigration under Donald Trump, Canada's ability to remain open has given it an important edge.
"Access to talent obviously comes from immigration and it comes from training young and educating Canadians right," said Trudeau.
