On October 3, 2016, the CRA launched the 'Serving You Better' consultations directed at small- and medium-sized businesses to gain insights on how to improve the agency's programs and services. "Our government is committed to establishing programs and services for small and medium business owners that better respond to their needs," said the Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, Minister of National Revenue. "As a result, we will better understand what changes would be meaningful for Canadian businesses."

Separate sets of consultations with business owners and another with professional accountants will run concurrently in 15 cities across Canada. The roundtables will be hosted by senior managers of the CRA and are being held in collaboration with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Chartered Professional Accountants Canada. The consultations will conclude on November 15, 2016. The CRA is also inviting comments online at cra-engage-arc.ca/en

The consultations follow a campaign promise in the 2015 federal election by the Liberal Party of Canada and commitment in the 2016 federal budget.
