The Micro and Small Company Secretariat brought into service on October 8 the Simple Business Portal (PES) (www.empresasimples.gov.br), the object of which is to simplify and reduce the bureaucracy by integrating the federal, state and municipal authorities, so that a company may have the facility, in a single procedure, to open an establishment, change its records, obtain operating licences and even cancel its registration.

The system will start to function with the automatic cancellation of registration of companies in the Federal District and, if it is found that there are debts recorded against the company's CNPJ as a result of the cross-checking of data between Commercial Registries and the Federal Revenue, these debts will be transferred to the CPF of the person responsible or of the partners in the company.

The expectation is that this benefit will be extended to the other states by the end of the year.

In addition to these benefits, the PES will have the Electronic Business Market, which will help companies, mainly micro and small companies, to widen their markets, whether internally (including government purchases) and externally (exportation), to reduce their production and operating costs, with easier access to credit, innovation and management capacitation.
