Strengthening privacy protections for My Health
Record
The Government will strengthen privacy provisions under
the My Health Record Act, to match the existing ADHA
policy. This policy requires a court order to release any My Health
Record information without consent. The amendment will ensure no
record can be released to police or government agencies, for any
purpose, without a court order (01 August 2018).

The Medical Board of Australia (the
Board) has decided to publish links to serious
disciplinary decisions by courts and tribunals on the public
register of practitioners only when there has been an adverse

Queensland public hospitals unlikely to perform more
abortions if it's legalised: Minister
Legalising abortion is unlikely to increase the number of
terminations in Queensland's public hospitals, estimates
hearings have revealed. Currently, 95 per cent of abortions are
performed in the private and non-government sector, funded by
Medicare with a patient co-payment (31 July 2018).
