The CFTC implemented changes to the transaction summary tables in the "Weekly Swaps Report."

The Report is a Commission publication that provides information on "trading, clearing, participants, and products in the swaps market." According to the CFTC, the improvements are intended to ensure that the report accurately reflects (i) market-facing trades and (ii) open swap positions that have transferred risk between independent entities. The CFTC said that the updates include, among other things: (i) better identification of duplicative records across swap data repositories, (ii) more granular assignments for credit swaps, (iii) updated inter-affiliate identifications and (iv) more extensive tracking of life-cycle events.

The CFTC is accepting feedback on "the format, classification structures, and supporting documentation of the CFTC Swaps Report."
