On July 31, while
speaking at the Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity
Summit, Vice President Mike Pence called on Congress to pass
legislation before the end of the year that would create the
Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency under the
Department of Homeland Security. He emphasized the country's
need for "a central hub for cybersecurity" and stated
that the agency would "bring together the resources of our
national government to focus on cybersecurity."
