Em 13 de julho de 2017, foi divulgada a Instrução da Comissão de Valores Mobiliários ("CVM") nº 588 ("IN CVM 588" ou "Instrução 588"), que dispõe sobre ofertas públicas de distribuição de valores mobiliários de emissão de sociedades empresárias de pequeno porte realizadas com dispensa de registro na CVM ("Oferta de Crowdfunding" ou "Oferta"), por meio de plataformas eletrônicas de investimento participativo ("Plataformas"); e (ii) a obrigatoriedade dessas Plataformas serem registradas perante a CVM, na qualidade de pessoas jurídicas competentes por intermediar tais ofertas públicas.
